After he moved to Collegeville from North Carolina ten years ago, he was a guest speaker at a Collegeville Economic Development Corporation Design Committee meeting where he presented his idea to add a bike station at Trailhead parking lot in Collegeville. Matteo Favero is a husband and father who has lived in Collegeville since 2010. Ursinus College brought him and his family here when his wife was hired to teach biology and neuroscience. He has homeschooled his two daughters since that time until the present. He has continued to teach private piano lessons as well. He earned a Master’s degree in piano performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts graduating in 2003. A bicycling life unexpectedly developed in 2006 when he began volunteering at the Community Bike Shop in Charlottesville, Virginia. She served as club president in 2018-19, having previously been president of the Rotary Club of Lehigh Valley East in 2011-12. Janet has served District 7430 as Assistant Governor in 2014-2017, Rotary Leadership Institute Chair in 2016-2018, and Youth Exchange Committee member since 2009.Janet shares her birthplace of Racine, Wisconsin with Rotary Founder, Paul Harris. A career in sales & marketing insurance took her from Wisconsin to Texas to Arizona, where she meet her husband, Tom in 1986. Their journey together includes two children, Carl & Katie; five Rotary Youth Exchange students, and career opportunities in Arizona, New Jersey, Georgia, Iowa, finally settling in Bethlehem, PA in 1998. She has been involved in a number of business start-ups including a business consulting practice, retail artisan gift store and the Habitat for Humanity Lehigh Valley ReStore. Linda is treasurer of the Saucon Rotary Club, a district 7430 ShelterBox ambassador, and an assistant professor in the Department of Educational Administration and Secondary Education at The College of New Jersey. Before joining the academy, Linda spent 20 years as a teacher, administrator, and school board member at the preschool, elementary, and middle level schools in several states throughout the U.S. These experiences laid a foundation for her teaching and research interests, which focus on how schools can develop systems that meet the holistic needs of each child. Linda's research primarily investigates organizational practices and leadership in community schools and the effects of state policies on practitioners. |

In Renji's words,"I am the Owner and Center Director at Mathnasium of Collegeville, and I come from a family of teachers. My mom is a professor of Chemistry and my grandfather was a Math teacher. Before Mathnasium, I worked as a Project Manager in various industries including retail, financial services, architecture, and commercial development. I firmly believe that I'll be able to make a positive impact on the community of Collegeville and beyond by helping children reach their potential. I am passionate about helping children learn how to enjoy and excel at math, build their skills and confidence, and open up opportunities for their future careers. In addition to my responsibilities at Mathnasium, I feel like the Rotary Club will also provide ample opportunities to help children and young adults in the Collegeville community and beyond."*****
About Dr. Heather~
Prior to assuming her role at Ursinus in July 2018, Dr. Lobban-Viravong served as Senior Associate to the President at SUNY Geneseo. She also spent 16 years on the faculty at Grinnell College, five of which were spent as an Associate Dean. In her capacity as Associate Dean, she played a leadership role in designing programs to improve faculty development and support their integration into the liberal arts approach to teaching, including the creation of a highly successful mentoring program for new faculty. With a PhD in English from the University at Buffalo (State University of New York), Dr. Lobban-Viravong has a wide range of scholarly interests. She has also been an active participant and presenter at national conferences devoted to higher education administration. She was selected as a 2013-14 participant in the Senior Leadership Academy of the Council of Independent Colleges and American Academic Leadership Institute, a development program for promising candidates for cabinet level academic positions. Beyond her current duties as vice president for college and community engagement at Ursinus, she believes in the importance of maintaining close connections to students through personal advising, mentoring, and engagement in programs that support student success.

DESCRIPTIONPerkiomen Watershed Conservancy is organizing it's annual stream cleanup on Saturday, 31 October from 9:00am to 12:00pm.The Watershed will be providing gloves & trash bags, and will be picking up all the trash we collect.No more than ten volunteers may sign up from Collegeville Rotary. Coming from the south, drive past CVS and Dunkin Donuts, turn right off Rte 29 North into Collegeville Crossing that is Freeland Drive, and drive straight ahead to 262 Freeland Drive. Coming from the north on Rte 29 South, turn left into the housing area. Park on the street.There is a path that leads to the Perkiomen Creek. Ground might be wet or muddy, so wear boots or water-proof shoes.Please be respectful of residents, and children playing in the area!Ages 12 and up

Look for event brochure in an email. He writes: "My name is Dr. David Ehrenkrantz and I'm Chair of the Vocational Training Team Committee for Rotary District 7450. Our District is applying for a Vocational Training Team (VTT) Grant with the Rotary Foundation. I and Past District Governor Bob Lankin are working together on this grant -- we're both members of the Northeast Sunrisers Philadelphia Rotary Club. I'm not sure if you're familiar with the VTT design: these are projects where we send professionals to "train trainers" in a foreign country. We're looking to send a group of nursing professionals to Pignon, Haiti to augment nursing services on that northern part of the island. We've engaged a professional training team from Queens, NY, whose leadership includes two graduate level nurse educators from NYU and Pace University, along with a program administrator. They'll be going to the island and working with a nursing team at Pignon Hospital. The Rotary Club of Pignon will act as the host club." Summary: The Rotary Club of Pignon Haiti will be hosting a group of nursing professionals from Queens, NY, whose leadership includes two graduate level nurse educators from NYU and Pace University, along with a program administrator who will be arriving at Pignon Haiti on mission to augment nursing services on that northern part of the island. They'll be working with local nursing teams at Pignon Hospital to help them improve patient care by training them on the new innovations and best practices of nursing."

The purpose of Community Connections is to foster meaningful exchange on, and build awareness of, topics and issues that impact us as members of a community. She created a local program to benefit young people several years ago called The Future Einsteins. She is a 2020 graduate of Spring-Ford High School. Currently, Aastha is a freshman in the Pre-med program at Emory University in Atlanta GA. In her senior year at Spring-Ford High, she earned two scholarships for her academic achievements. Her charity is providing free tutoring (help with home work etc) service also for children kinder garden through high school. They have about 12-15 kids who are taking advantage of that. I propose that our club lend financial support to her program for our January charity. In her own words: "Aastha Bansal is a first-year student at Emory University majoring in neuroscience and behavioral biology on the premed track. She is involved in research, healthcare extracurriculars, community service, and works part-time at Wegmans. She and her friend founded The Future Einsteins last year to offer free science camps to students in underserved areas, and since then, their approach has broadened to offer free tutoring in all subjects, weekly science blog, and monthly science sessions. She is passionate about healthcare and education and is excited to see The Future Einsteins make an impact in the lives of future generations. " |

I really enjoy ESRAG and also the Biodiversity Task Force. I believe that it will take everyone working together to create positive change.
