Volunteers Needed November 8–13
One hundred American flags. One hundred tributes. Countless stories of service.
Next week, Collegeville Area Rotary & Foundation will transform the field next to the Lower Providence Fire Department on Ridge Pike in Eagleville into a patriotic tribute honoring the brave men and women who have served our country.
Our inaugural Salute to Service, November 9–13, is more than a display of American flags. It is an opportunity for our entire community to come together, remember our veterans, and show our appreciation for their service and sacrifice.
And we could use your help to make it happen!
Whether you can lend a hand for an hour, help prepare the field, assist during our Veterans Day ceremony, or simply check on the flags during the evening, every volunteer plays an important role.
Here's How You Can Help
Sunday, November 8 | 1:00 PM — Flag Assembly
Help attach 100 American flags to their poles and prepare the materials for transport. Location details will be provided to volunteers.
Sunday, November 8 | 3:00 PM — Field Preparation
Join us at the display site to mark the placement of each flag and install the ground supports in preparation for Monday morning.
Monday, November 9 | 6:33 AM — Sunrise Flag Installation
Be part of a special moment as we raise 100 American flags at sunrise, accompanied by the sounding of Reveille. Volunteers are asked to arrive early.
Wednesday, November 11 | 10:30 AM — Veterans Day Ceremony Preparation
Help prepare the site for our noon Veterans Day Ceremony. Volunteers are also welcome to assist with cleanup following the ceremony.
Friday, November 13 | 4:39 PM — Sunset Flag Retirement
Join us as Taps is sounded and we respectfully take down the flags, bringing our weeklong tribute to a close. Please arrive early to help with preparations.
Monday–Thursday, November 9–12 | Evening Display Checks
We are also looking for volunteers willing to check on the display late at night to make sure the flags remain secure and to identify any damage caused by wind or weather.
Every Helping Hand Makes a Difference
You don't need to be a Rotarian to participate. Neighbors, friends, families, veterans, local businesses, and community members are all welcome to volunteer.
Even an hour of your time can help make this tribute something special.
We also invite everyone to attend our Veterans Day Ceremony on Wednesday, November 11, at 12:00 PM. The ceremony is free and open to the public.
