Outdoor Environmental Learning Center at Perkiomen ValleyExciting news for our club! We're going to be working with the Perkiomen Valley School District on helping them expand their arboretums at the 2 Middle Schools.
Lenape Arboretum at PV Woods, as the arboretums are called, are special places where students learn about the environment in a variety of ways. The District is the only K-12 school in the world that can claim to have 2 arboretums. These educational tools help to meet PV's commitment to environmental stewardship in the community.
The District Environmental Sustainability Team will be using funds from this year's District Grant to help the staff at PV Woods create an Outdoor Environmental Learning Center. Collegeville will be the lead club in administering the grant, and our members will have an opportunity this spring to help with the planting of native plants and the maintenance of the plants through the summer. We will also help PV create an environmental storybook trail.
