We had the honor of showcasing the accomplishments of our Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Conference (RYLA) students, also known as Camp Neidig participants. These exceptional soon-to-be seniors from Perkiomen Valley and Methacton were selected by their teachers and counselors for their outstanding leadership qualities and potential to make a difference in their communities.

Emily Miller and Izzy Everitt, both Camp Neidig participants, spoke about their experiences and shared how the program helped them grow as leaders. They shared a powerful reflection: “They told me I would make life-long friends in the 48 hours I was there. I didn’t believe them. At the end, I knew they were right. The bonds I formed will last a lifetime.”

Our special guest, Sahas Kurumety, son of Rotary member Ravi Kurumety, joined us to reflect on his own journey. A 2017 graduate of Camp Neidig, Sahas shared insights about his experience with Rotary Youth Leadership programs and how they have shaped his personal and professional development.

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is one of Rotary’s most prestigious programs, designed to develop leadership skills in young people and empower them to lead by example through service. Two of our award recipients were present and had the opportunity to share their experiences with the Collegeville Rotary membership. Their dedication and drive are truly inspiring!
