Winston Churchill once said, “Never in the field of human endeavor was so much owed by so many to so few.” He was referring to the courage of the British Air Corps—individuals whose actions altered the course of history. Today, that sentiment resonates deeply within Rotary, as we reflect on the extraordinary generosity of Rotarians and Friends who choose to invest in The Rotary Foundation.
Across District 7430, that generosity is already making a powerful statement. As of today, 12 Rotarians have contributed an impressive $715,657.06 toward the current campaign. This strong start reflects both confidence in Rotary’s mission and a shared belief in the Foundation’s ability to transform generosity into lasting impact.
The Rotary Foundation is the engine behind Rotary’s humanitarian work. Through Foundation giving, Rotarians fund projects that strengthen local communities and change lives globally—from clean water initiatives and education programs to youth development, disaster response, and peacebuilding efforts. Contributions to the Annual Fund SHARE are especially impactful, as they return to the district in the form of grants that help clubs bring their service ideas to life.
Looking ahead, the path forward is clear. To reach the campaign goal, District 7430 is seeking an additional $2 million in gifts or pledges of $10,000 or more by October 15, 2026. Historically, this next phase is often supported by 40 to 50 Rotarians—individuals who recognize both the responsibility and the privilege of helping shape Rotary’s future.
Each Rotarian is encouraged to reflect on what they are able to pledge or contribute, and on the legacy they wish to leave—both personally and as a member of Rotary. There is also a practical consideration: beginning in 2026, taxpayers who do not itemize deductions may claim an additional charitable deduction of $1,000 for single filers and $2,000 for married couples filing jointly.
Yet, as Rotarians know well, the true motivation for giving has never been tax policy. It is impact. It is the lives changed, the communities strengthened, and the future shaped through collective generosity. Every gift to The Rotary Foundation multiplies service, expands opportunity, and reinforces Rotary’s commitment to Service Above Self.
We know what we do matters.
And now is the moment to act.
Yours in Rotary Service,
